Staffordshire insurance brokers Prizm Solutions Ltd have entered 2021 on a high with staff promotions and a new recruit on board.
Julie Pound and Matt Small have been made directors at the firm, which specialises in providing services to businesses in the SME sector.
Fellow staff members Kim Howlett and Dan Grace have been promoted and experienced insurance professional Stuart Brain has joined the company.
Peter Robinson, Managing Director, congratulated them all on their new positions and thanked all his staff for their flexible approach through the ongoing Covid restrictions.
“Everyone has worked so hard during the pandemic and I am so proud to work with them all,” he said.
“These promotions are well-deserved and we are looking forward to working with Stuart, who is well known in the insurance world and brings a lot of experience. I am delighted to welcome him to Prizm.”
Julie started off as an admin officer when the company launched in 2006 and has worked her way up to her new senior position. Matt joined as an Account Handler in 2008 and is now Sales Director.
Former account handler Kim is now Broking Manager and Dan, who joined the company aged just 21 in 2014, has been promoted from Account Handler to Account Executive.
“Dan was new to the insurance industry when we took him on but he has worked his way up and is continuing to pass all his CII exams and that success will continue,” said Peter. “He has worked so hard to get where he is now.”
Stuart, aged 51, has joined the company after working at various firms in the insurance sector, including Cowens Group, Southall Harries and Ault Insurance Brokers.
Prizm, based in Albert Road, Tamworth, is enjoying its 14th year of consecutive growth. The firm has not had to furlough any of its 14-strong team during the pandemic as business has remained good.
Peter said the continued growth was down to the hard work of everyone in the team and his priority through the upheavals of the past 12 months had been ensuring his staff were supported in their work.
“Our success is down to the staff,” he said. “Everyone has adapted really well to working from home, but it hasn’t been easy. Some people have been struggling; it’s difficult with families and children all at home at the same time. Some people have been stuck working in a bedroom for the best part of 12 months.
“Our staff are so important to us and we work hard to make sure no-one feels undervalued or forgotten so we call them on a regular basis to make sure they are OK and have daily five-minute group Teams meetings to keep up office interaction. We employ a mental health counsellor to help those who are struggling and we try to keep spirits up by sending out little treats and hampers.
“I am very proud of them and how they have adapted and worked so hard during the lockdowns. They are a fantastic bunch of people and they have done me proud making sure we get through these difficult times.”
Peter said looking ahead he wanted to continue to try to win new clients and support existing ones.
“Most people accept we are heading into a recession but we have proved that we can be adaptable and flexible and navigate our way through difficult times. As a smaller company we are nimble and we can meet the requirements of the clients,” he said.
“Most of our team have had direct experience of running a business, whether directly or via family members so they can understand the needs of our clients from a personal perspective. They know what clients are looking for.
“We want to grow the business even more, and I am confident we have the best people on board to do that.”
